I decided to put on real clothes, earrings, and ev I decided to put on real clothes, earrings, and even a little make up today! It felt a little strange (especially the make up!), but I needed to do something a little different.

New moon energy? Maybe.

Feeling the need for a momentary diversion? Likely.

Will I do it again tomorrow? Perhaps.

Any profound discoveries from today’s antics? Not necessarily, other than the deep-seated need to do something out of the ordinary.

How about you? Have you done anything different lately?
🐝 Just a busy winter’s day in San Diego. I w 🐝 Just a busy winter’s day in San Diego.

I was awe-struck by the beauty of this moment in the garden. It reminded me that even with all the turmoil that humans cause, the rest of our earthly comrades continue on with their tasks. And in the case of the bees, as they dutifully go about their “jobs”, they bring benefit to the hot mess that is humanity. Would they still, I wonder, if they were cognizant of our cruelty, fear and hatred? Would they feel sorry for our stubbornness and self-centeredness? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Who knows.

What I do know is that, even during times of strife and struggle (like, everyday for too many people), beauty and peace can be found. Some of the most profoundly beautiful poetry and art have been produced during times of war and/or social upheaval.

So, take a moment in your day and tap into the energies of our natural world. Find some peace in knowing that even through our grief and angst, beauty is there to support us.
I think this is so cute - and so true! Balance i I think this is so cute - and so true!

Balance is more a verb than a noun. It’s an active state of being. It’s not static at all.

Somehow we tend to forget that in our asana practice, and our brain (ego) mucks up the works by trying to tell us we aren’t in the pose of we move or put our foot down in poses like vrksasana (tree), like Susanna is demonstrating.

But look how much fun she’s having just BEING a part of the pose! Have fun, and seriously go with the flow!!
I love this on SO many levels!! At first glance I love this on SO many levels!!

At first glance this might come off as snarky, but if you dig deeper (if the original caption from @tayannahleemcquillar comes through) it’s also a great reminder that we can only be sure of and in charge of our own lives. And these are the same lives we need to focus on - not the lives, or perceived lives, of others.

Take care of and enjoy your own grass! And if everyone’s “lawn” were the same color and texture, how boring and drab life would be!
New Year’s Day 2021... Cooked all day, and I di New Year’s Day 2021...

Cooked all day, and I didn’t even get out of my jammies!
If you listen closely, you can hear my new friend, If you listen closely, you can hear my new friend, a silky flycatcher whose Latin name is Phainopepla nitens. He’s got a cute little song - but obviously wasn’t down to being videoed today. Yet another being I’m so grateful to be alive with!
